Safety

The safety of our client’s customers, pedestrians, and our own forces is of utmost, non-negotiable importance to Benning Construction Company.

Roughly one-third of our work is in occupied, functioning buildings. The potential risk is staggering. Nevertheless, over the last ten (10) years our firm has earned an insurance EMR rate averaging 20% lower (.81) than the industry norm (1). This means our safety program works, and it protects your assets.

Under the leadership of a full-time dedicated safety professional, all Benning employees, from the President to the newest trade worker, are trained in nearly a dozen safety topics. Further, all Project Managers and Superintendents have OSHA 10/30-Hour and First-Aid/CPR certifications in addition to task specific certifications.

Our Safety Director administers our Drug Free Work Workplace program and writes Benning’s monthly safety newsletter, BCC Safety Gram, a tool used to lead our weekly jobsite wide safety meetings.

Averaging 183,000 manhours a year in the field and keeping everyone safe is an accomplishment recognized by our industry peers since 1975.
